So, knowing that I want to take a healthier step into 2009, and hearing bits and pieces of other coworkers doing the same, I decided to take a hand in things.

I started a Store 0255 Fit Club.

I came up with the idea yesterday and poked around - and immediately got a lot of positive response from coworkers. I... have never really been good at organizing things, so it's all going to be a grand experiment on many levels.

I decided that since I already had a spark page, that I would use Spark People to track things for all of us. We all have computers, we don't always work with each other, it would give us the opportunity to track things for ourselves and share things with coworkers on whatever scale we wish - if we want to share food and exercise and weight, great, if not... This would also take out the humiliation of weigh ins and measurements.

Kirk and I will be doing the walk to the coast in August, so it was something both of us were really needing/wanting anyway.

Any suggestions?

Some kind of rewards system? Little prizes for exercising x days in a row, or x weeks in a row or whatever? Prizes are a good motivator for my lazy butt, even if it's like a dinky pencil or something. ;)
