I second that, you totally have to come through LA... We can have some sort of party here!

WOoo HOO! I will be emailing you my cell phone number and my home phone number.

I know it's freaky, and if you think I'm a total stranger you don't want to meet, that's okay.

But I'm friendly. And I have kids and stuff. And if you feel the need, you are more than welcome to have some crash space for a night if you would like!

i'm still sad that we weren't able to hook up!! i would LIKE to, someday once i'm settled and such again, and can find someone to share driving duties, wanting to take a 'tour' down the coast and back to az, stopping to meet ljers and such.

cuz i'm a dweeb like that ;)

Dude, you are *so* welcome!

I can't wait.

yes, i am actually coming through l.a.

what the ORIGINAL plan had been, was to go to sandy eggo and spend a night or two, then drive up from like 3 am or something like that, so that i could be in portland by about 630, depending upon driving... i have a feeling that driving a weighted down jeep cherokee will be VERY different than a non weighted down dodge intrepid, which is wide as a house and curbs WONDERFULLY.

so i might have to stop across the oregon border and sleep..

i dunno... i know from experience that once i'm out of THE LONGEST DRIVE EVER that is the state of california and past mount shasta, it's like a hop skip and a jump from portland. oregon goes by SO fast then...

It's a different drive with a weighted-down car, yes, Mt. Shasta isn't quite as easy with weight, but it's not horrible. Having done it about a year ago, I speak from experience. :) I did it...let's see, Portland to the Bay area (San Jose) in about 12-13 hours, and then SJ to LA in about 8-9, hitting bits of traffic in Sacramento & Santa Barbara, respectively...

YAY, you're coming thru LA!! <bounces> Email me (brynna@musemagic.net) & we have to work out getting together. If you want to spend a night or two in LA, you're welcome to stay with me. :) *hugs*

if anything, mt. shasta was actually EASIER this time. maybe because i was a lot more used to driving in general, than before?!?

the biggest main difference in the last time i made the drive and this time: i was so lazy this time. last time, i drove until my eyes popped out of my head, but this time, i looked for any excuse to pull over, and i definitely think that i pulled over for the evening ENTIRELY too soon!
