dreams

First. Live. Local.

Many crazy dreams...

First I dreamed that I was living at home with Mom and Jessie. A nuclear war had begun and the bombs had already been launched between us and Russia. (I think the reason was something Terminator based, that the machines had a mind of their own.) Mom had blankets ready for the three of us to hide under, because, for some reason, the blankets would keep us safe from the radiation. I kept pointing out all sorts of flaws to this theory, that WALLS wouldn't keep out radiation, so why would blankets? What about nuclear winter? The blankets were rather thread bare, so we would freeze! But was nuclear winter cold or just dark and "snowy"? I couldn't remember what I had learned. I remember the town we were in preparing to meet the blast and seeing the fallout start in the distance. As we all hid, I realized that we had made NO proper arrangements, that even if the blankets kept us safe, we would starve because the food would be contaminated. After the initial threat was over and we climbed out from under our blankets, I looked around at everyone in the town, knowing that humans needed a culling of the herd, as it were, that there were too many of us. I just dreaded the next few months to a year, possibly having to watch my family die of radiation sickness, and wondering if I had it myself.

Later, I was walking the streets and came across an apartment of sorts that my family had once lived in. (One of those situations where I have never really been there in real life, but had lived there as a child in my dream.) I walked in the front door so that I could embrace whatever memories seeing the apartment again would bring me. The place was dilapidated - grime everywhere and paint peeling. I saw that there was about ten people living in this one bedroom shack, seeing all the pallets strewn around on the floor. I remembered that there was an upstairs and went to explore. One or two of the people living there looked up and asked who I was. I assured them I would do them no harm, that I just wanted to look, in order to remember. (Everyone else that lived there was gone.) I found the upstairs and realized that the place was so much larger than I remembered. I also found a hidden passageway in the back that would overlook the inside of a warehouse. I climbed out of the window there...

... and was standing on a wall, watching two men in airplanes race each other. Both planes were rather... odd in appearance, as if they had been designed without common knowledge of what planes should look like. They had just taken off from the ground inside the wall and I didn't think they would clear the wall. They both barely lumbered over and one flew off fine, while the other, golden, one faltered and fell off to the left and crashed into the building. I ran over and started digging through the rubble, afraid the rest of the building would collapse on me. I get to the plane and yell "DUMBLEDORE!! YOU'RE ALIVE!!" It was, indeed, Dumbledore, and he was barely alive.

I was then in green velvet robes of an interesting cut. There was an announcement to be made, so I had to get to the livingroom. I was in the girls room and saw everyone around me in similar robes. As I walked to the meeting area, I passed Harry Potter in the hallway. "My, he's growing up to be a handsome lad!" I thought to myself. He gave me a dirty look. I sat on the couch in the living area, seeing a boy with long dark hair sitting on the floor. He kept scooting one direction, to be followed immediately by a girl. I could see that he didn't want anything to do with her, so I got up and sat between them. He shot me a great look of gratitude. A very short haired Snape walked in and said that because I saved Dumbledore's life, we get the house cup!! Along with the cup, he handed me a free copy of a book that he had written, something about travels in Egypt. He snapped that I had better read it, if I knew what was good for me. (Upon waking, I thought about the dream. No, I wasn't in Slytherin. I think I was in Hufflepuff for some reason.)

I believe that I ruined something for a couple of coworkers recently.

We were in the break room watching TV and a preview for There Will Be Blood came on.

I instantly say, "That sounds like a talk a mother has with her nine year old daughter."

I know that every single time I see or hear anything about the movie, that's all that IIII can think about now.

I'm sad that WoW is down until 11 am, which is technically the time that I should be going to bed. Not quite sure how well that will work, seeing as I got up at about 5 am today, but as I work at 10 pm tonight.... *shrug*

Still no idea if we're working with our new manager tonight or not. I know that the last I heard, he was scheduled to, but the most I had heard him contacting us about scheduling or anything else was to leave a message for the store manager (who is on vacation until today) to see if he had access codes and keys yet. We shall see. I shall miss the "laughing until we cry" instances we had with Ted and can only hope that New Manager Sean has HALF of the sense of humor that Ted does.

Otherwise, he may dislike Elizabeth and I greatly, uh huh. ;)

Discovered that it was LAST month that I was supposed to start paying my student loans back. Woops. Not like I had the money, anyway.

Stupid money.
