proud to be an ass

(no subject)

Much love for watching the President and First Lady dance together.

I wanted to make a post about how I felt this day, how it affected me and those around me. I'm too sleepy and not very... forthcoming with appropriate... what do you call them...? Words.

I hadn't heard from any coworkers whether they were supporting Obama, McCain, or Other. It seemed very apparent today, though, that almost every single coworker was a strong Obama supporter.

I took a super early lunch (after only being at work an hour and a half) in order to watch the Inauguration. Captain Kirk, Lorena, and I sat in the break room, eating the Krispy Kremes that Kirk bought for the occasion and watching it all unfold. I learned that Kirk has been on Air Force One, eeeeons ago when he worked for some food company - he had to carry in a bag of ice.

Sure, a lot of people may be very fanatical about the whole thing. That being said, I hope that I never forget the emotions and ... aura! ... of the world during and after the election, during and after the inauguration. It felt as if so many people had hope for the first time in too many years.
