Oct. 27th, 2003

they came this morning and picked up Fluffy to hack out her ovaries, or whatever they do when they spay a kitty.

i'm very proud of my mother for letting her go, especially on such short notice, although she's wracked with guilt and feeling that Fluffy will never forgive her, that she's going to be so scared that it will traumatize her, etc.

we get her back this afternoon.

yeah, she's back now and fine, so it's all cool. she's sleeping, and has been sleeping since she walked in practically. mom's panicking because she's so out of it, but i told her that it's because of the meds...

Your mom's doing the responsible thing by letting the spay Fluffy. She'll be a bit tender and woozy, and may want to be left alone, but she'll probably recover quickly. Our cats that have been spayed or neutered have become more docile, more friendly and more human-oriented after the surgery.

I was terrified of taking Beta to get snipped, but it was the right thing to do. He recovered fairly quickly, although I had to continue to give him his medication for a few days, which was difficult.

that's what i told mom as well (in fact, most of the replies to my post i read to her as i got them, to help ease her mind, cept the '*kicks kitty*' one, of course..).

she's home and sleeping like a woozy log ;) and i think fluff can only GET more docile, cuz she sure isn't the friendliest as it is :)

course, from being terrified of ANY human about 2 years ago, she's come a long way..

Actually, the cat will probably think you're rescuing her, since they can't understand complexities of emotions and reasons. When I went to pick up my cat, she jumped behind me, and shot the vet a dirty look from behind my legs. :)

lol!! what a great picture that painted, thank you!

she DID seem quite relieved to be home, if a bit paranoid and COMPLETELY out of it.

she's been sleeping for hours. mom's worried about her sleeping so much, but i keep reminding her she's on drugs (the cat, not my mom! hee!)

yeah, in the past whenever myself or my mother got one of our cats fixed, they were fine with it.

mom's very convinced that her cats are her children, and as such, become just as traumatized as an 8 year old child would.

Fluffy will be fine. She will be a little sensitive around the area they operated on her though, so watch where you pet her. It will all be better, for your family and Fluffy.

they Frontlined the holy living HELL out of her, as well as flushed her ears of mites (which she had been having a massive problem with..)

she's doing well, just sleeping a lot.
