this picture sits in my living room.

okay, not THAT VERY EXACT picture, but if you shaved off the bottom 1/3rd or so, then a copy of it would be in my living room, hanging, er... leaning... on the fireplace mantlepiece.

a little wooden magnetic train that says 'JESSIE', some sake cups, bath salts, mini frames, and tiny candles sit in front of it.

but it's there.

in the cut scene from Pulp Fiction, Uma asks Travolta if he is a Beatles man or an Elvis man, and stated that everyone is either one or the other, that there was no liking both the same.

which are you?

i'm going upstairs to read my nerdy Dragonlance book now.

just thought i'd share.

lol definitley one of the reason why i like beatles more.

and oddly right as i started typing this, my roommate's random hit fiona apple's remake of 'across the universe'...

and i HAD been reading the first novel of the soul war series, which takes place like 50 years after the war of the lance, basically beginning with the death of caramon from old age. it kept referencing the war of the lance and the chaos wars, as well as the war of the twins, so i ran out and bought all the books so that i could read them, do my homework, and then make another attempt at reading the war of the souls or whatever it is.

Good book btw :)

hee hee i had NO idea what was going on and it kept making references to things gone by, and i hadn't read the original trilogy in a trillion years, so i ran out, bought the chronicals, the twins trilogy, and the chaos war trilogy so that i could do my homework and try the soul war trilogy thingie again.

i also saw in the bookstore that weis came out with her own book that takes place AFTER that trilogy.

Hm... Well, I've got a lot of respect for Elvis, since he did a lot to bring rock and roll into the mainstream, but there were a lot of other acts in the late fifties and early sixties, I think, that showed more creativity and such.

As if everyone and their mother doesn't know I'm a Beatles girl through and through. ^_~
Sep. 11th, 2004 01:21 am (UTC)
just as it should be :)
Jul. 17th, 2004 09:14 pm (UTC)
Beatles man all the way... Elvis is okay (although there are a handful of Elvis songs that are, in my opinion, "okay plus"--Viva Las Vegas and that version of A Little Less Conversation for instance--I still don't own a single Elvis recording), the Beatles were brilliant.
Sep. 11th, 2004 12:37 am (UTC)
lol i hadn't really needed to ask YOU ;) i already knew that you would see it my way!
Jul. 18th, 2004 05:51 am (UTC)
Beatles all the way.
Sep. 11th, 2004 01:00 am (UTC)
woo hoo!

*high five*
Jul. 18th, 2004 02:26 pm (UTC)
I'd have to say more Elvis than the Beetles although I'm not a big fan of either.
Jul. 19th, 2004 02:13 pm (UTC)
Beatles: no contest.

i knew you would be a girl after me own heart :)

Eh, probably more Elvis than Beatles, but not a huge fan of either, honestly.
Sep. 11th, 2004 07:49 pm (UTC)
i was the same for a very long time, i hadn't really seen the point of either of them, until i reached my late 20's for some reason. *scritches head*

hmm...thats a toughy. i like some of the beatles music (some of the later stuff i'm not fond of). and i like elvis more as a person than a singer. i would say...elvis. :)
Sep. 9th, 2004 07:04 pm (UTC)
good to know that there's still some elvis people out there that are cool :)

i, though, am a beatles girl.
Aug. 25th, 2004 07:27 pm (UTC)
Beatles. Without hesitation. I'd not be ashamed to admit owning several Beatles albums, but Elvis? Oh dear.
Aug. 26th, 2004 06:29 am (UTC)

i mean, he did have a couple of years where he wasn't bad to look at, but even THEN, he looked sweaty and oily.

and i certainly don't listen to the beatles for their looks, yanno.
