remember that commercial, where the woman is blow drying her hair, and the phone is ringing, and she stops blowdrying her hair to hear if it's really the phone, but its pause in ringing is whenever she shuts it off, and as soon as she starts blowdrying her hair again, it rings?

i just had a situation with that and playing my guitar. i was actually practicing, and was hitting the final clamatic notes of "Glutton of Sympathy", and the last chord carried on a tad too long...... i paused. was that the..... DOORBELL?!?

it was. it was a lady selling the Oregonian. so i ordered it for my mommy. she likes coupons and news. and i put the billing address down as mine. i refuse to order the paper again for myself, knowing how i am with it. (faetal has grounded me from ordering it again...)

deeply immersed into Xenosaga. I'm at the part where i finally get to control Jr. for the first time. it seems to get better as i go in, more gameplay involved instead of walking two feet, watching a 20 min animated sequence, walking another two feet and killing one thing, then watching a 30 min animated sequence, and so on.

it also makes me want to get xenogears.

anyhoot. i have to get ready for work now.

*le sigh*

hopefully, tonight will be better than thursday.

my store manager is leaving. this saddens me and frightens the bejeebers out of me.

how can i forget the conversation?
such a fresh display of imagination
let run away with my lips
i nearly tripped
time to abandon ship...

You can actually play Jellyfish songs? I can only sing them and do some percussion... I don't know what type of audio recording software you have, but if you can make an mp3... I'd love to take it with you doing vocals and guitar... and then i can overlay my vocals and percussion...

I've been thinking of new ways to do music lately... I think I may actually do that as a journal entry request... for musicians to lay down some tracks that I can over lays on and then let them hear the final product before eventually actually "releasing" it to the public. Hrmm... yes....

i have zero recording programs of any kind. i can't play that many, only glutton of sympathy pseudo well (stupid bridge), baby's coming back, and bedspring kiss (though with all the weird solos and stuff, i haven't figured out how to end it acoustically yet.)
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:29 pm (UTC)
oh, and in case you haven't heard me say it 9273493827 times before, whenever someone asks me my vocal range, i point to the jellyfish. PERFECT vocal range for me, perfect inflections, etc. the only part of the only song that goes out of my range is "man i used to be", during the first chorus where he sings low...

be wary of door to door newspaper selling people. My grandmother got gipped.
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:30 pm (UTC)
no money up front. we'll see how it plays out.

I loved xenogears, cept the last bit was really ridiculous. I borrowed it from steve and forgot about it for.. two years or so.
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:31 pm (UTC)
hee hee sounds like my friend joe and my anthrax tape.

though i think he borrowed that for about 10 years.

and he's had my Erasure - Pop for about 6.

that's about how far i got, where you finally get to control Jr., the little badass!

also i don't know if you noticed or just wanted to watch ALL of those animations but you can pause and their is a "skip cinematic" option button when you pause durring 'em.

have you seen front mission 4 at all? it looks really need. not much as rpg/action but strategy based stuff with mechs. i never was big on strategy till lately i've had my brain consumed by final fantasy tactics advance.
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:37 pm (UTC)
nope, hadn't seen that one, either (never played any of the tactics, either, believe it or not!)

since it's my first time through, i'm watching all the animations, though i DEFINITELY have been skipping them if i die and have to go through them a trillion times (where Ziggy is going in to save MOMO when you very very first get him, for some freaking reason, i could not LIVE long enough to even get the thingie that protects against poison, i must have done that thing 15 times!)
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:44 pm (UTC)
i only have just played tactics, i know it was originaly on psx but never got till i just got a gameboy and picked up the gameboy version.

that's what i did. i died a lot getting use to that game. heeh.
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:56 pm (UTC)
it's quite..intricate. now that i know what the hell is going on and what to do, for the most part, it makes me almost want to start over to play it RIGHT.

this always happens with every single flipping game that i play. i'm MAKING myself completely beat ff x-2 before i do so, though, so that i have access to the game+ options.
Aug. 30th, 2004 11:15 pm (UTC)
i know what you mean, that always happens to me!

i took a break from x-2 because it was overwhelming and i wanted to play something...more simple like zelda.
Sep. 1st, 2004 03:29 am (UTC)
you mean, something where you don't play dress up to fight evil?
Sep. 1st, 2004 03:21 pm (UTC)

and i miss being able to wander around the world map aimlessely. as fun as it was, how they structure the game kinda bugs me. and i kind of space out the story...
Sep. 3rd, 2004 07:10 pm (UTC)
aww, yes, the Aimless Wandering :D *wistful sigh* i mean, even by FFix, though you could somewhat aimlessly wander, wherever you were in the story really had you blocked off from everything else for the most part until very late in the game.
Sep. 3rd, 2004 07:21 pm (UTC)
aww yeah. i remember wandering around the figaro desert fighting stuff and saying "what DAMN castle? in the desert??"

i thought IX did a pretty good job of travel restriction though. there were some good reasons to it like the lack of mist elsewhere. also when you first left the mist contienent i was floored. "you mean that wasn't the only place to explore??"
Sep. 4th, 2004 07:23 pm (UTC)
okay. i'll give you THAT one.

and i laughed my ass off about the figaro castle. my brother had been there when i was playing it for the first time and was trying to give me directions.

he's always been bad at directions.
Sep. 4th, 2004 07:30 pm (UTC)
thank you ; )

oh so did i. i still have made weird pinging sonar noices last times i played it when the castle was submerged.

Sep. 4th, 2004 07:39 pm (UTC)
wow, i miss that game.

it would be so fun if they remade that game, but with ps2 graphics and with extra bonus things added in. i would SO buy it.
Sep. 4th, 2004 07:44 pm (UTC)
so do i. i need to get it back from my friends.

i know they did a ps1 version like that. it has ff5 with it. but a ps2 version with awsome graphics would be 10x more awsome. i'd so buy it.

i think they're doing a ps2 remake of ff7
Oct. 2nd, 2004 03:41 am (UTC)
well, yes, i have both final fantasy anthology and chronology. and not exactly a remake so much as a sequel of 7.
Oct. 2nd, 2004 07:18 pm (UTC)
i really want the one with V and i need to get a new copy of IV because of the doy my brother chewed on the case and IV cd but not chrono trigger.
May. 7th, 2005 06:00 pm (UTC)
LOL funny how that works, no?

wanna know something really fucked up? (wow, i'm cursing today! hee hee.) remember how my cat knocked my ps2 off the tv and shattered my ps1 memory card, but my ps2 memory card was amazingly still in tact?

well, all of my ps2 GAMES are missing. well, not kingdom hearts, but all the ones i want to actually PLAY, i.e. ff x-2 and xenosaga. just empty cases.

maybe it's a sign i really should clean.
May. 7th, 2005 07:15 pm (UTC)
That is really reaaaly fucked up. (hehe curse away)
Feb. 18th, 2006 06:43 pm (UTC)
hee hee, i rarely curse. i will forever giggle at the way a coworker responded when i said 'shit' one night.

i did eventually find all my ps2 games (yes, it's a miracle what you can find when you clean) and restarted to play almost all of my ps1 games.

i guess that one good thing about a shattered memory card is that you get rid of the saved game clutter. i had so many partial games saved all over the place.

playing ff8 now. it's about the only one i haven't beaten (well, for ff6 and later, that is.)
Feb. 19th, 2006 10:44 am (UTC)
heee! sometimes i don't even realize i'm cursing.

ff8 is awesome but i had some trouble getting into it. drawing and refining magic tested my patience
Nov. 8th, 2006 02:38 am (UTC)
dagnabbit, i still haven't beat that freaking game. and i've started so many games since then, too. the only ones i've beat have been the katamari games. ff4 and ff1 i got into the final freaking dungeons and still haven't passed. why? DUNNO. THE END IS RIGHT. FREAKING. THERE.
Nov. 9th, 2006 11:59 am (UTC)
i have a tendency to put off beating a game when I'm that close to doing so. trying to prolong the magic? (OMG Ultima OR MAYBE KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND MIMIC MIMIC MIMIC) eep!
