Joan. JOAN!!!

i'm sorry, jess, but apparantly CBS cancelled Joan of Arcadia...

what's even WORSE, is that they're replacing it with a show where Jennifer Love Hewitt freaking talks to dead people.

stupid corporate conglomerations.

i still don't think CBS has canned nearly as many fantastic shows as FOX, though...

I'm v. sad, esp. since the season 2 closer wasn't, well, a GOOD CLOSER.

ever since this happened, i've grown a massive hatred for the show, although i've never seen it.

and i wasn't even an AVID joan fan.

Jennifer Love Hewitt sucks!
May. 18th, 2005 05:46 pm (UTC)
well, i'm sure she does, but no need to bring her personal life into it.

JLH is a huge snore-fest. put her back on party of 5 where she belongs!
May. 18th, 2005 06:01 pm (UTC)
party of 5 is one of those shows that i secretly wish i would have paid more attention to when it was actually on tv.

yup! the only thing that irritates me more, is thinking just how much those guys get paid to make giant decisions at the corporate office like that.

Don't we already have 2 Dead People Talking shoes in Tru Calling and Medium? I mean I'd much rather talk to God than a dead person.. whatever.
May. 18th, 2005 06:18 pm (UTC)
no freaking doubt. at least, by hanging with God, i'm sure that he would be nice and give you the hookup to talk to dead people every once in awhile, yanno?

it's like a win/win situation, really.

besides, most dead people just whine incessantly about being dead, anyway.

This may sound crazy...
I hate to say this--and I'm surely in the minority for doing so--but I'm sort of glad it got canceled. People tend to use shows like Joan of Arcadia as a sign that America is in love with Christian mythology, and therefore it's perfectly appropriate to cite Christian mythology when trying to legislate 'American morality.' I know, it sounds like a huge stretch, but just bare with me on this one; I've done a whole lot of reading on this format of popular culture.
I simply think there is much more to this than meets the eye.

Re: This may sound crazy...
Furthermore, a good example of this phenomenon I'm talking about would be the popularity of Passion of the Christ. During this past election, I honestly heard people referencing that movie's popularity in an attempt to justify forcing Christianity into our government. This is seriously how people think.
Next thing you know, people will be pushing to include the phrase "that's hot" onto our currency, as America's questionable fascination with Paris Hilton surely deserves such a thing.

greg the bunny was a damn good show, though I never watched it until the boyfriend bought it on DVD.

and you know? i still haven't once watched the love hewitt show. i think it came on once and i angrily turned the channel.

i can't stand that girl almost as much as i can't stand paris hilton.

Figures. I watched that show often during the first season. They also cancelled Jack and Bobby on the WB. My glimmer of hope for network tv has vanished.
Feb. 13th, 2006 07:00 am (UTC)
mine vanished long, long ago, although i'm beginning to get some back in guilty pleasures like lost and grey's anatomy...
May. 19th, 2005 02:07 am (UTC)

jennifer love hewitt makes me gag
May. 19th, 2005 07:45 pm (UTC)
meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, tooooooooooooooo.

the only thing about her that i found even REMOTELY endearing was the fact that she seems to have the same hair type as i (thin and limp) and sort of knows how to work it.

though as time goes by, it seems to be getting MUCH worse.
