SPARE time, wha?

silly capslock.

officially spent the $50 that my daddy gave me for my birthday today. (at least, that was the excuse i gave myself just now..) hit Electronics Boutique and picked up Dark Cloud, Summoner, Summoner 2, and The Bouncer for like $25, and then to Game Spot for Final Fantasy XI. it took AAALLL DAAAY just to patch the play online viewer thingiemabob, and now it's searching for files to update and download for both the main game and the expansion it came with. i'm sure that will take the remainder of the night.

the most AMAZING storm came in this evening. i was sitting downstairs, lost in the world of Dark Cloud (must... repair.. weapons.. STAT.) when andrea comes racing down the stairs to holler "OH MY GAW, IT'S PURE EVIL OUTSIDE!" as she pointed in panic. i look at the window. it seems the air has turned an odd... greenish orange suddenly. we both jet outside the front door and stare up at the sky. we wonder if there's a tornado or something else major going on. this fear is NOT helped by seeing a TON of our neighbors running as FAST as they can up the driveway to clambor into their homes and slam the doors. i come back inside and nervously turn regular tv on. no warnings or anything, hrm.

after awhile, her and joel went on a walk, while i went back to playing my game and playing fetch with the cat.

a few moments later, andrea calls from joel's cell phone, freaking out about the sky. i grab my camera and run outside. all the neighbors in my apartment complex are outside for the most part, and the moment that they see me with a camera, they all start shouting at me, gesturing madly for me to stand in this spot - no that spot - wait, check out back here! i took enough pictures to completely deplete my battery supply once again (it had been virtually full when i had started.) i need to go through them now and see if any of them really turned out.

if so, i'll be happy to share ;)

That reminds me of one time long ago in my apartment. Blair and I were watching tv or something when one of us noticed that the sky was lit up. This was like at night when it's all dark. So we both go outside on our balcony and look and we were freaking out. The sky was all orange in the distance coming from one big spot. I was like, "It's aliens!" but I don't think she agreed with me. A lot of other neighbors were outside looking too. Turns out a gas line had ruptured and flames were shooting up like 100 feet in the air lighting up the sky for miles around.

i'm still bitter that the pictures didn't turn out well at all because i have the SUCK of suck cameras.

Yes, green sky usually means tornadoes....hope it wasn't too bad for you.

I took some neat pictures after a storm once...colors where so vibrant, it was almost surreal...

i just wish that the pictures that i took would have turned out well, would have done the clouds justice. the pictures that the flash didn't go off looks like a regular partly cloudy day, and the ones where the flash DID go off look like the sky is made of blood.

pretty cool looking, actually, but not accurate.

You inspired me. Today, I went to Office Max and bought the Concord Eye-Q on clearance. :-D Finallly have a digi camera!!!!! How long do your batteries usually last, btw??

FFXI, eh? Officially given up on EQ now? I just don't have time for it anymore. :(

I'm officially addicted to Jellyfish. It has been all I've listened to for two weeks now.

I took pictures of the crazy-ass clouds...though they weren't green 'round here. WTF is up with the weather lately? Is this the mid-west all of a sudden?? WEIRDNESS.

regular batteries would last literally like 15 minutes in my camera. if you haven't discovered the Best Kept Secret About Digitals by now, invest in rechargeable batteries made specifically for digital cameras..

i will finish this statement a bit later, but i have to run out the door RIGHT THIS INSTANT.

okay, back to my response for this! (impromtu birthday party for antialias called me away!)

i miss eq greatly, and a coworker actually playing fervently isn't helping! i tried to get into xi, but i just couldn't. it was like eq, but with harder controls and not as fun play.

glad to hear you like the 'fish!

I was already asleep by then, but I woke up briefly, heard THUNDER (I miss that sound!), and then the lights flickered. But I didn't stay up to check things out... Does the pacific northwest get tornadoes?

usually, we're pretty much exempt from all weird natural disasters, but the Powers That Be like to toss us an odd earthquake, volcanic eruption, and tornado or two.

my whole teenage years that i grew up in the longview/kelso area, i remember only once that there was a tornado, and instead of hiding, my friend pat and i chose to drive to work in it.

that air color was amazing. we were on our way to wendys, the car ride full of pointing and enthusiastic statements about beauty.

i am demanding pictures be posted. not that i have a place to be demanding such a thing, other than this comment box.

good day to you miss!

next time you guys are over, if you're bored and remember, i can show you the pictures i took of that day, if i haven't already! because i have such a sucky camera, it didn't nearly do it justice, though!

WAAIT! Where do you live? That happened here, too! I was talking to my friend on IM and she said "...why is the sky all orangey?" And I thought she was psycho or something, and then I looked outside and it looked greenish orange, just like you said. Then my friend called me (he was high at the time) freaking out about "Christy, that volcano erupted! Look outside! We're all gonna die!" haha... so yeah. Just thought I might share that with you... so where do you live?

ooh, thanks for the heads up on the website there!

i never really ended up posting the pictures of the storm, either. i had sort of planned on it, although they didn't turn out overly well. without the flash, it just looked like a cloudy day, with the flash, the sky looked like BLOOD. so i had thought to post a couple of those pics, maybe.

possibly some day.
