discussion of the day

favorite video game of all time and why.

and my horriblescope has said for a week straight now that relationships and romance will figure in greatly to my day. huh. closest to 'romance' i've gotten is Bacci wanting to actually sit on my lap and purr her heart out.

I'm not sure I could answer that. Final Fantasy II (US Version). Maybe Super Mario 3.

I'm a sucker for classics. I don't need lots of violence, just worlds to explore and secrets to find.

Mario 3, hands down, and I will add The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past.

I could play both those games, over and over. (And have.)

Sims was the greatest game ever. i had no job nor responsibility nor friends ... and i played while sitting on the couch until passing out from exhaustion. made items and wallpaper and allthat shit too.

and, and! mario 64 will never be equaled.

never got to play the mario 64, alas!!!

i borrowed Sims from daniel about a year and a half ago and played it feverishly... until one day it froze and i lost a whole day's worth of playing.

i'm still too mad at it to play.

Hmmm, SNES Shadowrun was awesome. Also, Prince of Persia (Gamecube) is great fun. N64 had Goldeneye.

Yep, I'm Nintendo's bitch.

Shining Force II. Great SRPG. I was and still am a SEGA kid, I guess. X3

i had always wanted a sega, but never was able to get one. i remember my brother throwing virtual tantrums for his nintendo and snes, so although we were extremely poor, mom did what she could to get one for him.

good times.

Donkey Kong the arcade. 1981.. and the first game with Mario in it

Sep. 11th, 2005 02:51 am (UTC)
Gah, hard to choose.

I'd have to say Ico for the PS2. I've played tons of games but that one really sucked me into the story but more importantly sucked Wife into the story as well, she made sure I wouldn't play without her there watching and she'd help out when I had no idea how to solve a puzzle (she's better at that than I am) - so yeah, that one really changed the way games are viewed in my house.

Before it was my thing, now it is sometimes 'our' thing.

Oh Good Gosh Woman!

You trying to drive us Nerds crazy? What kind of question is that? There are waaaaayyy too many options per category for just 1(one) answer!

Besides...some of us have been around for a Long time, you know how many Great games we've played?!?!

Pong - First Video game I ever played.

Asteroids, Defender, Centipede, Pac Man - Early Eighties games that I spent my first Fortune on...now I can get them free with programs like "Mame".
Spent my second Fortune on Donkey Kong.

Tombstone City - First Personal Computer game I ever played on my TI 99/4a.

Duck Hunt - First Console Game (NES) Evar!

Halo and Halo2 - Best Console Game(XBOX) The scenes and Action in these Games are the most creative I've ever seen! Plus you can play against each other, online as an individual or grou, for or against each other in total Anarchy. You can link XBOX's together and have up to 12 gamers, or Network them and setup a pc as a gaming server.

Fallout 3 - (XBOX) Best guy Game Ever! Lot's of Driving and Action and the Crashes are Spectacular. Has one type of game in it that Lets you drive cars into busy intersections to try and take out as many other cars as you can for points! Only thing missing is a Head-to-Head.

There is just too much out there for 1(one) answer...it's like asking what's the Best Movie you've ever seen?...

hee hee! i remember wasting a lot of my childhood away at my dad's on his atari on frogger and pac man and donkey kong! (i could never make it past the 2nd level, though!) i remember hating actual arcade games because i hated the adrenaline rush i would get when playing it. (my heart's going to esplode!!)
Sep. 11th, 2005 03:26 am (UTC)
I'm all about the ridiculous... so... Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64. or Crystal Castles on Atari..

though... Katamari Damacy is quickly becoming one of my favorites
Sep. 12th, 2006 07:51 pm (UTC)
i've been looking EVERYWHERE for that freaking katamari game and no one in town has it. mayhaps i should start looking online!

Super Mario 3.

Why? Because it was the Super Mario that I could win.

Super Mario 1 rocked it like old skool. But it was set up to be impossible to win at the end. At least in the countless hours that my cousin and I tried we couldn't make it passed that last little fire thrower guy before fighting the last dude.

What the hell were all those little guys called?

the mario game that my brother and i were able to rock inside and out was super mario world, on snes. i had a choice between super mario world and super mario 3 for my ds (technically, i could have gotten both, but then i would have spent almost $150 on games that day.), so i chose sm 3 because i so missed the cape and the racoon tail and and and.... but oh how i suck at playing it now!

if i ever actually find a boyfriend, he has to love video games, or i'll die a little inside each and every day.

you know, for busting ass to get my fingers on that collector's edition (with the four games for gamecube) i still haven't played the thing once.

what a horrid gamer i am.

My all-time favorite vidéo game is 'Ultima IV', it's an vintage RPG that was released for the Sega Master,(just before the Genesis).
...it was engrossing and could not put it down.

-Followed very close by "Toe Jam&Earl", it was for the Genesis, a fun and very diverting game!

Depends on the time. Lately I've been very brain dead so I'm a total Civ2 addict right now. If I had more brains I'd be playing Baldur's Gate 2. I love the Baldur's Gate games.

Sims is also good, but has gotten too big so my computer runs it slowly.

I love games like Zeus, Warcraft, Starcraft, etc...games where you build towns and stuff, and maybe go to war with others.

As a kid, I was a Space Invaders girl. :)

Atari bowling. It is the reason I love the color green so much and when asked what my favorite sport it, I say "Atari Bowling".

The end.
