In 1998, I was playing with the anagram generator at http://wordsmith.org/anagram/ and the only interesting results for my name included the word oatmeal.
Then in 2001, I was at a party at nitelite's house, and nomilk and I were talking about LJ in the kitchen. We were raiding the fridge, and she explained that she didn't eat milk products, which explained both the LJ name and why she was eating malt-o-meal instead of the instant oatmeal.
I'd had a different LJ, but was unhappy with it, so I started a new one the very next day, or real close thereabouts.

My LJ name is my first and middle names put together. I'm probably one of the most uncreative people in terms of finding bitchin' online handles/nicks and whatnot.
I'm just as uncreative with naming my cat's toys as well. A blue plush mouse = Blue Mouse A green plush mouse = Green Mouse An orange plush mouse = Orange Mouse Her original pink mouse = Mouse

and at least you didn't do something like robssweetie or something equally sickening like that! that's always been one of my biggest online pet peeves, but then again, i guess i've never been in a predicament where i felt the need to identify myself as a) someone else's, or b) through someone else (i.e. everyone knowing me as frank's goat/girlfriend/whatever.)
