so i had sent in requests for additional information on some local colleges for getting my foot in the door for a medical career of some sort. i had figured that they would just drop me something in the mail, maybe try to call me once, and call it a day.

holy HELL GET OFF MY PHONE! seriously. they keep calling. keeep. caaaallling. and i've gotten calls from three of them SERIOUSLY in less than fifteen minutes. (didn't answer any of them, but still...) in researching my options, i'm thinking so far that my best bet is to go through clark, not through a vocational school.

and if you haven't done so already, gimme your snaily maily address!

I had a similar problem. I told the schools that I did nothing over the phone, that they could send me the information by mail (incidentally, I do that with people trying to get me to donate money). Number of phone calls I get has been cut down by more than half.

excellent idea, that! my cell phone is a Godsend now that i have it instead of a house phone with no caller i.d. - if i don't recognize the number or it comes up as unlisted, they can leave me a message and i MIGHT call them back. hell, i don't even answer calls from my family half the time. and while i'm in school, i have the extra added excuse for not answering as the fact that i keep the ringer completely turned off so that i don't forget to turn it down or off before going into class. i'm socially awkward enough that i don't need a phone going off during a lecture to make me feel that much more awkward ;)

yeah, you can't give places like that your real phone number....they'll harass you forever.

I use my area code and 867-5309 (Thank you Tommy TuTone). 867 isn't a local exchange, so I don't need to worry about someone getting the calls.

Oh, don't go through a vocational school for medical stuff--it's crap, most of them. You don't need to go to a voc school for a year to be a medical assistant, you just have to get your CNA (certified nursing assistant) and get a job! It is usually a one semester course at the community college wherever you are.
I work in a hospital and would be happy to give you tips on getting into a medical field if you'd like them.

i thought i'd stop by and pick up my measly one 5 pound weight.
i was thinking about going to target too.
just wondering if you wanted to go as well. I'll have mom with me though too, her truck was broken into and they took her insurance papers, so i thought i'd take her out to the insurance agent since its right out by target.
anywho, if you felt like doing errands we could pick you up too.

i also got another beading brochure in the mail that i had requested for you ages ago ;) they're so PRETTY.

oh how i love freaks and geeks. i'm watching it now instead of going to bed like i should be. i haven't slept more than 4 hours a night since school started, methinks. i even started yelling at YANCEY the last few days. evil, i am.

I had the same thing happen to me when I got in touch with Phoenix University to see about getting a bacholor's degree. They still send me spam every now and again, and they get put right in the spam folder like I taught the mail program to do.

i totally learned my lesson from that, though i don't foresee me trying to ever go through one of their little programs, now that i'm cemented(ish) into clark.

You have to watch out because some schools are run more like businesses, especially if it is a small "career" type school. They care more about your money than you learning anything.

I plan on giving you my snail mail addy for my office, but I need to figure out what the address is.

my brother had considered going to ashmead to get his massage license, but after he talked to one of them on the phone - and especially after they called him again, one day later - he vowed to black list them to everyone he knew after that.

good edunacation is so hard to find anymore.
