so this is what my hair looked like when i went to work today:

i HAAAATED it. too freaking short around the face, and i couldn't do ANYTHING with it. so i went in between shifts and threw myself at their mercy. i was practically in tears as i told my tale of woe. they INSTANTLY knew who it was i was talking about, so it sounds as if i'm not the only one that it has happened to. they comforted me, sat me down, and recut my hair for free.

she kept trying to understand what i wanted done with it, and i kept saying "i just want it all GONE. get RID of it. i can't do anything with it, anyway."

actually, these weren't taken at home, these were in all actuality me in the barnes & noble bathroom, hoping no one would walk in on me taking pictures of myself in a barnes & noble bathroom. (they didn't.)

i giggled as she hacked all of my hair off, i had forgotten how much... FREE-er i feel with no hair (though i've never had it THIS short.) i don't feel as attractive, and do feel boyish, but i think the cut fits my personality better. (says me.)

not a bad night at work, almost every single one of my customers reacted as if they had taken a handful of prozac a half hour before showing up in my line, they were all THAT HAPPY. wow. and joking with each other and me and each other... it all started when an elderly gentleman and wife walked up to customer service and said "can you handle me here?" and i responded "sure! but the question is... can you handle MEEE?!?" ha ha. i love nights where the customers in other lines all look wistfully towards my line because every single person is gaffawing by the time they leave.

rawk.

spent the first 4 hours of my morning trudging up and down a flight of stairs carrying heavy boxes both ways, and the next almost 2 in the back of a semi unloading 2000 boxes. needless to say, after only like an hour or so's sleep, i've met my lifting limit for the day.

You could have dyed the first hircut red and tried to pull off a like new school velma but... that has complications in it own.

I like the second haircut too, sort of reminds me of when you had blond hair. I say if it makes you feel good rock it to the fullest extent :D

Glad you had some good times at work today, now get some rest :P. I have no idea what I'd do if I could curl up like Bacci there, man snoring would probably be impossible or umbarebly loud!

Goodngiht.

rest last night was most exquisite, thank you! and i'm sure that now it's short and spiky again, that i'll start to experiment with hairdyes. (not anything too erratic, as i have to stay to 'colors found in nature' for my officemax job.)

I love it! It's really cute -- and it definitely suits your personality. The nice thing about hair is you can regrow it eventually. :)

OO AUBBERS!! in your 'after' pics, your hair looks so HAWT, I love it!!! So hip and feminine and it looks so modern with your glasses :-)
I'm so glad they could fix it for you, hair disasters can be complete emotional trauma.

Adorable pic of Miss Bacci!

not that bacci takes any BAD pictures. cheez. can you imagine the power we would have if we had the ability to be as photogenic as a cat!

yay, thank you! i HAD gone in originally, wanting it to be cut like it is in this icon (though it's blurry and hard to see)

ah, well, it'll get that length again eventually!

*squees with glee that you're using your painting as an icon*

thank you, and thank you! thankfully, she's calmed down QUITE a bit since when we first got her this time last year. we seriously thought that we would have to get rid of her, she was so awful!

doesn't it almost make you want to be able to be a contortionist when you sleep?

i haven't had bangs in YEEEEEEEARS, either, so we'll see how much i want to shave them OFF after having them now. (they're already getting on my nerves, and it hasn't been 24 hours yet!)

Kudos on the new 'do. I'll add my voice to the myriad compliments.

Don't you love how cats will find the seemingly most uncomfortable position and procede to fall into a dead-to-the-world sleep as if it were the most natural thing in the world?
aubkabob
Oct. 18th, 2005 06:13 pm (UTC)
ah, yes, indeed! makes me wish i could bend in all directions, too! also find it funny that they tend to sleep on things that you would normally think would be SO uncomfortable, i.e. a plastic bag (course, they don't have skin to stick to it!)

and thank you for the compliments, and nice to meet you!

thank you! i had had it this short quite a while ago (and eerily blonde, and my bangs were much longer), and i missed it greatly (was mainly growing it out because my brother/mother demanded it, so i was humoring them.)

i'm just dreading the first time i put on a skirt/dress. i remember last time feeling almost totally embarassingly MANNISH when i had put a dress on!
