one final plea for your personal (or close to personal) experiences with parents using drugs in the household and how it affected you (or someone you know). in talking with faetal today, i realized that it IS a pain in the arse to deal with the email sometimes, so i shall leave responses to this post screened, in case you (like me) are too lazy to use email sometimes, or in case it makes it more convenient or whatnot for you to respond. even if you just have a brief snippit, it shall be greatly appreciated.

very sleepy, which surprises me as i came home and took a 4 hour nap.

throat still hurts.

Re: Snippet-y
i'm glad that my brother and i just ended up distancing ourselves from our parents, instead. even during all the drugs and partying and stuff, our parents at least didn't regress into idiocy, though now that she's sober, our mother seems much more like she's regressed now than she used to. not quite sure how that happened. she also embraced Christianity, which i think has helped her quite a bit, though i don't think she'll ever fully recover from spending so much of her life in that scene.

i've tried pot and ecstasy, but that's about it.

my mother is on heavy pain killers and such. she swears that she's not addicted, though she admitted recently that she really has a problem. i guess that makes some sort of sense, as she used to be addicted to meth, and maybe it's natural to switch one addiction for another?

My parents weren't on drugs, but one time they freaked out because I had a tiny little sticker on my hand. They wanted to know where it came from and who gave it to me. I couldn't understand why I was in trouble for wearing a sticker from an easter egg kit.

Another time my mom found a baggie of white powdery stuff in my little brother's backpack. My parents sat around the table eyeing, sniffing and eventually tasting it. Until my 6 year old brother told them it was granulated soap from the school which he had made into a ball inside the bag and thrown at someone.

So, no, no drug stories, except that my parents were always on the lookout but had given up by the time we were old enough to procure them ourselves.

our mother was always highly suspicious of others with me, but barely gave a crap as to my brother's whereabouts for the most part. i spent half my teenagehood grounded and had to beg permission to do anything, whereas jess would just announce what he was off to do or that he was leaving, and it would be fine.

granted, mom was on a lot more drugs by the time jess hit teenagehood, versus me, when she was just on pot (and then cocaine for awhile).

and i guess from the sex point of view, females are much more fragile and more suceptible to being kidnapped and killed than boys, i suppose.

my head is going to esplode, so i can't spell.
