FIVE YEARS AGO, today, i began my journey with livejournal.

i can't imagine life without it. it's opened so many more doors for me than i would have guessed. my life has changed drastically since then, thankfully for the better. i've seen so much, done so much (not all that could be called an accomplishment), learned so much.

thank you all for sharing it with me.

Please? *begs* I need some competence in my life.

The fact that you're beautiful doesn't hurt either.

Just saying. *impish grin*

You've been on this thing as long as I have. Amazing. :)

It's a pleasure to have met you through it, and I agree--it's made my life much more interesting and diverse. ;)

Re: Wow
it really breaks my heart to see sixapart doing so many things to it and for creating vox, which will lure people who have been on livejournal for so long away (much like the ickypoo myspace hath done.)

ah, well. i'll be here in one form or another until livejournal BOOTS me out, and even then it's negotiable.

I wouldn't worry
LJ's not going anywhere. It actually is in the odd position of being an "elder statesman" now, since it (to my knowledge) predates almost everything in terms of full-scale community blogging.

Now that MySpace has cut in on LJ's action for being the place where hormonal 14-year-olds spew TEH DRAMAZ, LJ is free to evolve into its own thing.

The guys at Six Apart know where their bread is buttered. I generally don't have a problem with any of the big changes they've made. I have a Paid account, for instance, so I don't need to worry about the ads. The navigation strip doesn't bug me, and it's actually useful--though I think they did it just so LJ would look more like Blogger. ;)

I thought about getting a Vox account, but what's the point? It's just LJ without any of the community features--a vanity blog service for people who are too lazy to code in WordPress, but look down on LJ and Blogger as being for the kiddies. :)

Re: I wouldn't worry
About three years later, I'm happy that you were very, very right.

I have a Vox account, as well as a Facebook, InsaneJournal, etc., but I never post anything original on their. Facebook and MySpace has only been good for getting me in touch with people from my past - thankfully, no one I didn't want to get in touch with.

i'm sad that i didn't learn about it earlier - my now ex roommate was an early adopter - but i heard about it during a time that my brother kept sending me a string of websites that were omgsocool imustsignup ohmygaw.... and i didn't think it was going to stick at ALL.

Dude, are you dying or something?
I'm just joking...lol.

It's so much fun to read your posts. You are one interesting chick and I find myself learning so much from your crazy ass! One thing I learned...don't mark out old folk!!!!!

that's another joke...feel free to guffaw whenever...that is IF you think it's funny!

ha ha, old folk - that's mee!!! as i type this, even, i am putting red hair dye in my hair in order to even out my roots and to cover a ton of new silver hairs!!!

it's like i hit 31 and suddenly everything CHANGED. even the boobilage is starting to droop, grrr.
Sep. 5th, 2006 05:01 am (UTC)
oh lord...not the boobage! now they're starting to become "bags." i'm sorry. :-(

i hope it gets cold where you are...so when you nip out, it won't look so bad! grrr, indeed. but in a good way!

Or, sadly, when I'm in the throes of PMS and the boobage is giant and swollen - unfortunately, it's also terribly painful during that time, too.

i love how it takes you YEARS to comment. it makes me feel special and wonder what the hell we were talking about.
in fact, that's the only reason i wrote a response...so that i could get linked to the page where all this magic began.
