Phoenix went too easy on Logan in the last scene. His pants stayed on.

Did you watch the scene after the credits?
May. 29th, 2006 05:44 am (UTC)
hee hee, i was thinking the same thing!!! so much for her being run COMPLETELY by passion ;) maybe she likes a good hairy chest, but swinging junk frightens her.

yup, we stayed until after - my brother forbid us to get up, and halfway through the long arse credits, he says "it was either this movie, or silent hill. i can't remember..."

LMAO! I didn't see the final scene, but I heard all about it. Goooooood movie too, and perfect ending on the chess piece wobble. Woot! Final in the series my ass, it's wide open for another sequel.

ESPECIALLY after the after credits!! though if they DO do a fourth movie, it's going to be... difficult and not quite the same, as they won't have jean or cyclops, or rogue. but then they can bring in the REAL men.... like gambit!

though i read on imdb.com that josh holloway (lost's sawyer) had been offered a quick cameo in this movie as Gambit, but turned it down, saying it was too much like his lost character already, so they wrote it out of the script. BOO ON SAWYER! ;)

I never watch Lost, so I've no idea who you're talking about. Still, Gambit should've been in there. And they can still have Rogue come back. After all, Magneto proved that the Cure wasn't the end-all.
May. 29th, 2006 09:18 pm (UTC)
well, Sawyer isn't.. young by any means, which would automatically rule out any possible romantic line between him and Rogue.

but i agree. you just can't HAVE the x-men without the cajun prince.

and when i woke up this morning, for some reason that totally popped in my head, too, that it wasn't a permanent cure. i'm certain that some sort of story line could be built (should there be another one) about her suddenly recovering her powers. overall, i'm still sad that they didn't do more character development on her, or give her any of her fantastic powers like the super strength and flying and all.

gorsh, i'm a nerd.

Aw, that would have been awesome.
I love Sawyer AND Gambit!
May. 29th, 2006 09:20 pm (UTC)
indeed. this whole excitement over the movie hath caused me to want to watch all the old cartoons. alas, all i could find on netflix was x-men:evolution, which is okay, i suppose. that's where i would probably be getting my Rogue halloween outfit from (unless i suddenly come across a fantastic sale on green and yellow spandex.)
May. 29th, 2006 05:41 am (UTC)
Well, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm just curious: was it any good??
May. 29th, 2006 05:46 am (UTC)
i was quite entertained, to be certain, though it did have a different mood to it than the other two, what with Singer's departure. there were plot twists i was NOT expecting (having been a fan of the animated series, etc.), which i shall not divulge, and one that pissed me off. they left it open for a SLIGHT possible fourth movie, though they would have to do a LOT to be able to pull it off.

it also seemed a lot more gory than the first two, as well. i cringed greatly in spots, and i generally don't cringe easily.

Didn't see it yet
*and promptly jumps out of this conversation*
May. 29th, 2006 05:56 am (UTC)
hee hee, well i didn't think anyone who had seen the movie would WANT to peek in here, as it would most likely contain spoilers ;)

go see! go see!

cheesy in parts, but what superhero movies are not?

x-men: the last stand?
Just saw it. It was entertaining and fun. Great way to end an epic or was it?

I thought this was supposed to be the "last stand."

What's with the tease of a possible sequel at the end?

What would the forth movie be for? Jean and Cyclops are dead, right?

Even if Magneto somehow got his powers back, what is he going to do without his alloted army of mutants that were killed in that battle or vaporized by Phoenix?

I could see how X-Men could go on as a series, but they need more mutants to work with.

Re: x-men: the last stand?
not to mention THE ACCENT! *swoon*

and great points about all of the above. you should write sequels.

Re: x-men: the last stand?
aah, i remember all the different mutant-like series that they had either come out with or started to come out with that hadn't made it past the pilot. it would be cool to see someone decent take hold of something like that, i.e. jj abrams or some such, to do something that isn't overly filled with cheese and bad acting, or isn't too WB-ish.

just got back from it about 10 minutes ago
Crimeny, they can't kill everyone like that! Argggghhhh. And I really didn't expect Rogue to go through with it, though it's sort of understandable, not being able to touch anyone....So what's with last scene? I saw the bit with Magneto and the chess board but was there something later?
I'm not an expert on the lore but they really wacked it into pieces, it seems.

Re: just got back from it about 10 minutes ago
yup, if you sit through the credits, you get an additional mini scene at the end that speaks VOLUMES. if you want, i shall tell you about it, but i don't want to spoil it for you should you wish to find out on your own!

Re: just got back from it about 10 minutes ago
OKAY, okay ;)

basically, it shows the nurse from earlier in the movie caring for the invalid in the bed. (remember when Xavier was showing the video to the students?) The patient moves and you hear Xavier's voice say "Hello...*whateverthelady'snamewas*", because... well, he had transfered his conscious into the man's body. the nurse gasps and says "Charles?" and...

... the end.

Re: just got back from it about 10 minutes ago
Zowie. Well that leaves it open, but makes me sad, as I really like Patrick Stewart. :P
Anyway, thanks. :D

Re: just got back from it about 10 minutes ago
The nurse is actually Dr. Moira MacTaggart and her appearance is one of the few things that truly intrigues me about this movie and the possiblity of another.

I'm going to geek out all on your ass right here.
magneto is still a mutant, as are all the mutants who took the cure. leech's power is to suppress other mutants' powers, not remove them. it only works in proximity. so, as his ability to take away powers is only temporary, the cure has to be temporary too.
scott may not be dead. we didn't actually see jean kill him. she could've wiped his mind so xavier couldn't sense him, and he couldn't read her mind

How old is he? I feel dirty looking at the prettiness that is him! He totally reminds me of a Final Fantasy hero, he does.

I thought he was like sixteen ;)

I haven't seen it, but according to the folks on my F-list that have, it was excellent

Will probably be by far the best superhero remakes possible (other than the classics of Superman and stuff, of course, which get points just for being "classic".) Because the movies turned out so fantastic, in my opinion, I always go into new superhero movies with grand expectation, and am always TERRIBLY disappointed (cases in point: (un)Fantastic Four and The Credible Hulk.) Though the first Spiderman movie was fun (I haven't seen any of the others yet.)
May. 29th, 2006 04:02 pm (UTC)
I haven't seen it either, but there's no real reason to now! All the spoilers and whatnot. lol
