eesh, my pretties!! i sent out a text earlier, asking how a few of you were doing, and after reading your journals... *wince* hope that YOUR neck feels better, hope YOU stop throwing up, hope YOUR surgery goes swimmingly, sorry to hear about YOUR loss, sorry that YOUr head hurts so much, i have a thoughtful response to THAT post, but need to get more mentally motivated to make it, etc.

i love you alls, and am sorry that some of you are going through such a hard and/or stressful time.

but this reminds me:

Poll #739180 text messaging, part deux!

don't mind inane texts at random times of day? GIMME YOUR NUMBER!!!

i promise not to go TOO bat-crazy with the text messaging. i'm usually too busy to anymore, anyway, and i'm certain that the few that i do send out will greatly decrease once summer quarter hits in late june.

OOH! and in other news, i took the first step in removing myself from Sony's evil clutches:

i bought a Game Cube.

Oh Oh OH! you should get Animal Crossing! well, or at least rent/borrow it from someone.
May. 31st, 2006 06:04 am (UTC)
hee hee, i just turned that game off literally less than two minutes ago!
Jun. 2nd, 2006 10:16 pm (UTC)
huzzah! I love that game! I haven't played in for ever as I let my friend borrow my 'cube though.

what else do you have?
Jun. 7th, 2007 11:01 pm (UTC)
Wow, I don't think I've played my gamecube in like six months!

I know I (obviously) have Animal Crossing, plus:

Mario Sunshine
Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
Legend of Zelda compilation that has the original for Nintendo, Legend of Zelda II, Majora's Mask, and Ocarina of Time (for only $30! I was dying to get it, so I did... and have never even put it in the machine!)
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles

.. and that's all I can remember at the moment. I'm too lazy to get up and go look.

Oooooo that Zeld comp is awesome! How's Pikman?
May. 31st, 2006 06:31 am (UTC)
It's better but I'm tired and should be in bed dammit! :D

May. 31st, 2006 07:24 am (UTC)
I can't tell you how often I go to bed with my head cocked all off to one side and wake up in the morning hating life. Generally, after a good self neck popping and either excedrin or advil life is almost good.
May. 31st, 2006 02:11 pm (UTC)
This was HORRIBLE. I've woken up before with a stiff neck, but this was a bit insane.

I mean, I couldn't move Monday all day. At all. Even trying to move caused me to want to cry.

I took 800mg of ibuprofen YESTERDAY. And it did almost NOTHING. I think it helped a little, but I hurt so bad I could hardly tell.

I'm much better today, but still really really sore.

I don't know what I did, but you would have though tI'd wake up and realize "HI! PAIN! MOVE!"
Jun. 7th, 2007 11:02 pm (UTC)
I've done that before: woke up and having to take like a half hour to be able to get out of bed because I'm literally in tears whenever I budge. I always feel stupid when I have to call into work because of it, too, but if I can't get out of bed, I'm certainly not going to be able to dress myself, let alone walk a half hour to work and stand on my feet for 8 hours!

don't stop sending me texts! i respond when/how i can sometimes ^_^
May. 31st, 2006 11:06 am (UTC)
This makes me wish I didn't have an uber lame cell provider and could get text messages from people with different providers :(
May. 31st, 2006 02:53 pm (UTC)
I quite like my random texts :)
May. 31st, 2006 03:04 pm (UTC)
Like I said, I don't have a cell, so I gave you my home number instead. :)
May. 31st, 2006 06:10 pm (UTC)
I'd give you my cell#, but I get charged for texts. *bleh*

I'm, thankfully, Sony and Nintendo-free. :D
May. 31st, 2006 06:30 pm (UTC)
Oh, yeah; the random texts are fun. :)
May. 31st, 2006 08:23 pm (UTC)
You've already got my cell, so keep them texts a'comin'! :)

Sony IS evil. Look

The PS2 Hardware is well archaic, its more than 5 years old I believe, don't care to look it up.

The new PS2 is smaller, more compact and guess what? Costs less to produce than its older larger brother, which is mostly just a large CD area, drive bay and HUGE electric converter.

Anyway, my point is: Its in a market where even if ti is the leader there is just no reason to pay what we pay for the hardware.

$129 gets you:
A system
The needed power - A/V cables
A controler.

Thats it! No second controler, no demo disc or game nothing! Thats way too much for hardware that maybe costs $40 to make and is over FIVE YEARS OLD! Now its officially not current generation hadware and they will want us to pay that much.

Not convienced? The controller which is the same since it was created, basically a pressure sensitive version of the PS's Dual Shock controler, is... $25, yes just about the same price as when it first went on the market!

I'd like to buy a game cube but one thing I'm horrible at done is buying games, most of the games that I have for the PS2... infact all the games I have for the PS2 someone has given, Hell someone even gave me my first and second PS2 lol :) I do plan on buying Guitar Hero and God of war 2 but thats long off.

While I'm putting pennys aside for a GC I decided to just go ahead and tripple up on the money and get a "Project Revolution" so I'll have the GC's library to use and the new stuff and possibl buy into the older market titles but then again I have an emulater on my PC and tons of games already :)

You've always had to pay extra to buy a console with two controllers, i think. all of the major console making companies are far from paragons of virtue. it's just something I've grudgingly have had to accept.
Jun. 2nd, 2006 10:21 pm (UTC)
Oh man, that was me by the way. stuppid me.
Jun. 3rd, 2006 06:11 am (UTC)
I know but my point is that the hardware doesn't cost that much and its price point should be lower, even if only $30 bucks lower or perhaps another controler. and itwould go well for them because a controller is only $25.

In the years of old it was possible to buy a console with a package, a demo disc if not some crappy game, no, no second controller but then again they weren't super duper expensive. Today when they drop the price of the console they also make the pot bitter. They don't drop the price much as they take out the other value.

Oh, and I forgot to add that my brother got a Wii.. and loaned it to a friend months ago, so I never got to play it. I also haven't touched any console or game in FOREVER, other than to play FF12.. though that's still been like three months since i played last. I've just been playing WoW on my comp.

It makes me kind of sad to see that I may have actually grown out of playing video games.
Jun. 8th, 2007 03:31 am (UTC)
No no the WoW is evil it is stealing your time from us... from me!

Its interesting to see this post because I can date it and see what I've done sense. I have bought GOW 2 and GH2 was a present, GH1 was a present too although I haven't play it too much. I don't play too much any more either but I still do play. Its bad but I hardly turn off my PS2 but I've gotten more games for it than state and I purchased them. MOst of them may be classified as "manly games" Driving mayham etc etc, except Shadow of the Colossus, there is blod but its more of a thinker. I just purchased MK Armageddon and a wireless controller, now all I need is time and perhaps a nice climate and energy to play it.

buying the game cube started my roommates and i in this massive game buying mode: we all ended up getting DS's and a million games for that, the game cube, and the ps2. My brother got one of the tinier newer versions of it for his room upstairs. I also found all the stuff for my old Super Nintendo which works wonderfully - surprisingly, as I swear it was sprayed by a million and one cats - except the controllers, which stick. Sadly, those seem the most impossible to replace, though places all over up here sell the machine itself, plus ataris and other things like that!
Jun. 19th, 2006 10:26 pm (UTC)
Sony isn't as evil as Microsoft. In fact, they are the least evil of the remaining game console manufacturers, now that Atari, Sega, NEC, and a host of others have left the scene.
Jun. 7th, 2007 11:08 pm (UTC)
I dunno. I think they're still pretty evil. They used to totally own my ass between ps2 and EverQuest.

But, yeah. They just don't make things like they used to.
