IT'S BEEn awhile since i a) checked my capslock before starting to type, and b) i asked you for this, so...

Give me some musical recommendations!!!

you all introduced me to some fabulous music before, like interpol and death cab, so pleeeeease tell me what i should be checking out!

note: i cannot stand r&b and rap, but anything else goes.

and in other news, i'm not nearly as sad about Nickel Creek breaking up as i should be. well other people are viewing it as a break up, but i'm viewing it as an 'indefinite haitus'... granted, it's pretty much the same thing, but still....

I'm really loving Corinne Bailey Rae right now. She's very jazzy, sort of like Norah Jones only more upbeat. I'd check out "Put Your Records On" or "Butterfly"

Conjure One and Delerium are fantastic and I can certainly second this reccomendation. Conjure One has been stuck on my CD player most evenings for most of this year :)

Seeing them in November too which is just the icing on the cake :D

I'll even give you links to check it out.

3 songs that I've been listening to a lot by 3 different people/bands:

1) Brother - Murder by Death

2) Shores of California - Dresden Dolls

3) Your Honor - Regina Spektor

And as the bonus, unlisted track...

LDN - Lily Allen

Jaime Callum I just bought Live at Ronnie Scotts's. I have been enjoying that a lot lately.

Bela Fleck - good stuff. Different, but good.

Danny Michel "Invisible Man" and Sarah Slean "Pilgrim" or "The Score" or pretty much anything off of her Day One album.

May I suggest:

Lordi: winners of the this years Eurovision contest, for the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". They're a Finnish hard rock band with a penchant for monster make-up & utter contempt of "humanity". This is one of those bands you have to see to believe, check out "It Snows in Hell" on youtube:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=azhhebzq9Vc

also of note:

TV on the Radio: album "Return to Cookie Mountain", for electr-meets-rock-meets-soul goodness.

Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings: album "Naturally", for just plain ole soul, getting popular for a swanking, spankin' version of "This Land is Your Land" in a travel ad for New York. Of course, "I was there and heard of them first." Nyah!
