IT'S BEEn awhile since i a) checked my capslock before starting to type, and b) i asked you for this, so...

Give me some musical recommendations!!!

you all introduced me to some fabulous music before, like interpol and death cab, so pleeeeease tell me what i should be checking out!

note: i cannot stand r&b and rap, but anything else goes.

and in other news, i'm not nearly as sad about Nickel Creek breaking up as i should be. well other people are viewing it as a break up, but i'm viewing it as an 'indefinite haitus'... granted, it's pretty much the same thing, but still....

I would recommend anything off of Dashboard Confessional's new album, Dusk and Summer. Even if the name "Dashboard Confessional" makes you recoil in horror. Their new album is much less "whining because my girlfriend left me and strumming on my guitar" and a lot more "too-gorgeous-for-words."

Ah, a music-suggesting postr - excellent. Erm ... no idea. [grin]
Currently I'm listening to an assortment of stuff I recently picked up from a second-hand shop, so it includes:

Further down the Spiral = Nine Inch Nails
Abattoir blues / The lyre of Orpheus (double) = Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Songs in the key of X = Various artists (compilation by Chris Carter)
Music from Twin Peaks = Angelo Badalamenti
The Best of House of Pain and Everlast
Kick = INXS

Oh, and the newest Iron Maiden album, because I've been a fan of theirs for years.

Nice and varied, but nothing especially new. Of course, I always recommend that people get into New Model Army, Cop Shoot Cop and KMFDM, among others.
