This song has been rampaging through my head for two days now - INCLUDING in my sleep. This has involved me singing at the top of my lungs and dancing throughout OfficeMax and in the cash office.... until Yancey turned the Muzak up to drown me out. My dream involved me singing this on stage while riding a rollercoaster across the sky and taking pictures of the ground with my camera phone.

Also, this randomly came on my iTunes, and it reminded me that one of yous posted the lyrics to this song in your journal months ago (sorry for not remembering WHO), which made me go look up the old video...

I mustve dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
Theyre moving into the street.

Now did you read the news today
They say the dangers gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
There burning into the night.

Theres too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

Ooh superman where are you now
When everythings gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour.

This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But theres not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion.

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth living in.

I remember long ago -
Ooh when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
And the sound of your laughter
As I held you tight
So long ago -

I wont be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
Were not just making promises
That we know, well never keep.

Too many men
Theres too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Cant you see
This is a land of confusion.

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands were given
Use them and lets start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for.

This is the world we live in
And these are the names were given
Stand up and lets start showing
Just where our lives are going to.

Also, apparently either word got to Mom about my journal post last night, or she had a stroke of weird conscious - I got a message from her today, very lengthy, telling me that it isn't that she doesn't like my hair, she just wishes it was longer in back, but that it frames my "pretty face". Aww, thanks, Mom. Not thanks for thinking I would be The Sex with a mullet (she said it would look so much better if it was just long in the very back, but still as short around the front and sides. Eep.), but thanks, nevertheless.

And thank you all for your support. Funny how a million people can tell you that they like your hair or that they think you're pretty (or not Quasimodo, at least), but the one time that you hear it from someone you love sticks with you oh so much more. I.e. - I can remember two instances in my childhood where Mother said things to me that carried with me for YEARS - that I wouldn't make a very pretty nun because I would have to rely on my face alone, and that I was a HORRIBLE singer - told to a little girl between the ages of four and eight, I think.

Meh, what's a girl to do but cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it? ;)

Had many compliments on my hair and makeup at work yesterday and was frequently called "Tinkerbell" by a couple of them. While annoying, it was a relief as I had put on WAY more eye makeup than I usually do, and felt I looked more like "Liza" than "Tink".

I've been luckily (is SO a word!) able to avoid any personality of the band whatsoever. I am a total nerd for knowing who sings what (usually), but once I know the "who", it generally doesn't go beyond the name of the band.

Unlike back in the hair metal days, where I knew every single band member's name, height, marital status, age, .... etc. It was quite sad, really.

Flowers is a petty, ignorant ass, but I've learned to ignore it: Hot Fuss is too awesomecakes for me to discount just because he's a chode. Plenty of the best musicians are some of the nastiest people you'll meet.

I know it, Man.
I know what you mean. I still can hear my grandma criticizing my singing, and how I talk to much (everyone did that, told me I was vaccinated with a phonograph needle) and stuff like that.

Sometimes I still feel like that awkward, clumsy 10 year old girl. :P
