Jul. 2nd, 2007

I keep getting awesome feedback from the way I'm doing my new position. Some people are shocked. Most knew I had it in me.

I just hope I don't get bored with it.

I bought light, expensive, healthy cat food for Bacci in hopes she would eat it. She will. Spa something or rather. I looked for the lightest bag of food that would tie her over for a bit, that I wouldn't mind carrying home on foot.

I also bought her another 49 cent foamy ball, and she OMGLOVEDEDIT. Seriously, she ran around the house for an hour with it, fromping in glee.

She's gotten chubby now that she doesn't have worms and/or is fixed. She put on a whole pound, shooting all the way up to nine!

Jessie taught me a secret "tunnel" or two that has cut my walking home time in almost half. Woot.

And it's going on noon, so it's almost my bedtime!

I love cat toys, it's so fun to watch them play.

Indeed. I could just watch her for hours, sometimes.

Yay for Bacci feeling better!

INDEED! I wish she would stop being an evil she-demon to the roommates!

HEY! You be careful in those "tunnels" especially with your work schedule. Doesn't sound safe to me, perhaps I'm being a bit over protective but still.

I certainly will! I walk home from work usually around 9 am now, so at least it's not dark and scary! I did come across someone curled up on the side of the bike trail with the bike parked under a tree, surrounded by empty beer cans and curled up in a blanket.

cat food
be careful with changing foods too suddenly with Bacci. If she's used to getting one brand until the bag is gone, and then another brand until that bag is gone, then she will probably be okay...

but, a lot of the time, when a person suddenly switches their pet's food the pet might not eat, or might get sick (both ends) until the pet becomes used to the new food.

when you can, it's better to take a period of 10 days to switch a pet over to new food. about 4 days with 25% new and 75% old, 3 days of half and half, and then 3 days of 25% old and 75% new.

(litter, too, if you're switching types.. not so much brands {clay vs pine pelletts, etc})

Re: cat food
I know that it's bad to just switch like I did, but I wanted to get her on something other than Iams, something much more natural, and wanted something that would be easy for me to carry home for a half hourish on foot. Thankfully, (knock on wood) the transition has been easy and well - she loves the food and I haven't FOUND any surprises, yet!
