I'm up and ready for my first night on overnights... though saying "up"would constitute that I actually fell asleep at some point.  Yes, thiswill be my second day this week that I will have been up for well over24 hours by the time that I get home.  I have no idea why I can't sleep- I even took a sleeping pill!  (Which I almost never take, by theway)  I just can't seem to turn the brain off.  The next couple ofweeks will be beyond stressful and hectic for me, between work, bandpractice, and two (!!) shows.

I'm watching XMen II on Fx... I'm so beyond thankful that these moviesweren't nearly as horrid as some of the other superhero flicks, i.e.Fantastic Four and Hulk.

I think I may take another try at the cereal thing, but this time use my soy milk like I had thought about doing the first time.

Thank you, God, for inventing caffeine.

"If God had intended us to walk, he wouldn't have invented rollerskates."

I'm having the opposite problem. I totally can't get up in the morning and fall asleep...fairly quickly. I guess it has something to do with stupid dreams that won't let me sleep. Maybe you should try seeing a cognitive therapist (when things calm down) they can teach you ways to turn off your thoughts at night. I want to one for a month or so, didn't learn much because it was only once a week. But I do use one of her tricks when I'm desperate to fall asleep. Sometimes...it actually works.

I guess I should stop lying in bed and get up since I have to leave in half an hour. ugh.

I get like that when I am trying to solve problems or unhappy with something.

I have to force myself into relaxation to fall asleep.

1. Force out cycling thoughts.

2. Start from feet to head concentrating on muscles to relax.

Some times it takes a while but it works for me.

These days, if they were to draw my bodily fluids from some cardiovascular vessel, they would find traces of blood in my caffeine stream. After all a day without caffeine is spent like the night...asleep.

Oh, and on a totally separate frame of thought but still involving the "god quote" theme that you posted...here is my favorite:

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

Oh B.Franklin, you were a GENIUS!

The X-Men series did a lot right. Unlike certain other superhero movies, who will go unnamed.
