It was whispered to me today that the promotion is 100% definite, to happen in two weeks, but that I'm not supposed to know. I said that it's funny that it's my LIFE in their hands, and no one is allowed to tell me anything. One step at a time, I guess. Yancey is 100% definitely leaving [sadness] and Elizabeth is 100% definitely moving to sales. One step at a time, I guess.
Went in today, ecstatic that I would finally have time to work on MY things. We get a call from Jason asking me to clean and organize front lock up, because I do it bestest. Thanks! I only had about 30 min in there, though, before we got completely slammed with needy people. I even had a moment where my brain froze completely: I was standing at an intersection of aisles, and three people approached me from three directions and asked me three questions at the same time. I think that one of them could see the fear on my face as I frantically tried to figure out what to do first.
Got trapped in the hallway this morning, as Bacci tried to defend the house against some Evil Neighborhood Monster Cat... through the living room window. I was in the kitchen getting coffee and heard the blinds moving around... oh so much more than they ever do. Then came the howling and hissing and screaming and sound of a cat throwing herself at the window repeatedly. I felt bad as it woke the boys up, but I knew if I even considered going into the livingroom, she would turn her attack to me, instead. So I stood in the hallway with my mug of coffee in one hand and toast in the other.
Took a very long lunch today, and left three hours early. I only have 4.5 hours left until I hit overtime, and an entire shift ahead of me tomorrow... plus a giant truck of freight.
