Anything, just stop this harassment!

I had read AGES ago that my beloved OK Go were coming out with a new album in Spring of 2009. I've been trying like mad to find additional information on it, hoping greatly that it would live up to my love of the other two; so many times I wait on baited breath for a new album from a beloved band and am completely let down by the results. (*cough*SloanPrettyTogether*ahem*NickelCreekWhyShouldTheFireDie?*hoof*)

Finally, I find that it is currently set to drop in September (/cry) 2009, and is titled The Influence of the Blue Ray of the Sunlight and of the Blue Color of the Sky. The title is much longer than their other two releases (OK Go and Oh No).

I bring you, once again, OK Go in the backyard dancing and OK Go on treadmills. If you would rather see the band singing and playing instruments, you can watch them blow up things.

It all makes for great walking to work music.

I also love them for turning one of their rocksy songs into this. (Be warned - awesome hand bells but annoying girly screams.) If you would like to hear what the original song sounds like, go here and click "What to Do" and lissen. LISSEN.

Instead of going to bed at a reasonable time, I have been dinking online, composing this pointless post, and wasting time. My alarm goes off in less than six hours, woo! Yay, freight day!

I was able to get used to them after awhile, but it took a LONG time. I could even say the same for Ezra's How Does Your Garden Grow? though that is probably one of my favorite albums of theirs to date. Ooh, I so could have put the robots album up there with the other two - I knew that I was missing a couple, but...

I think it stems from loving the proceeding album OH SO FREAKING MUCH - Between the Bridges is still my ultimate favorite Sloan album, as well as Nickel Creek's This Side and Ezra's Closer. I fell so freaking in LOVE with those albums, so I guess it was sort of hard to have the next effort surpass that love.

Have you checked out Ezra's new one, Paper Empire? I gave it a cursory listen and it seems like more of the same as Before the Robots, but haven't been able to listen to it more than once yet.

Oh, I completely understand where you are going with this. WSTFD by Nickel Creek (I always think "WTF" when I acronym the title. Weeeeeeird.) really had to grow on me, seeing as how I identify This Side with so many happy moments in my life. Robots was an immediate favorite for me, however. Mainly because I was going through major uprooting and change when that album came out, and SOOOOO many of the songs dealt with that. I still can't listen to that album without choking up a bit at certain songs.

Pretty Together is a decent album, but I'm with you...hard to top Between the Bridges, seeing as how it's like one OMG MASSIVE LONG SONG. I love it.

Funny side note: I used to play Sloan on REPEAT over and over while we played EverQuest.

I have not yet gotten Paper Empire. I've been a bad Ezralite, though in my defense, I've been a bit busy lately. :/ I'll get it tomorrow, seeing as I've meant to.

Still, I know completely how you feel. I've grown attached to many an album only to find the newer flavor of the same band to be a bit out of my comfort zone. Still, albums can surprise you when you give them the chance, so I'll give the new Ezra album its due course.
