I wish Eccleston would have stuck around longer, too, though I understand that he didn't want to be typecast (from what I read as being his reason for leaving...)

Before watching the series, I had only seen pictures and references to Tennant, so he threw me off at first, then after the first season, I found Tennant incredibly difficult to get used to... until all of a sudden, it *clicked* and I WAS IN LOOOOOOVE. I think this happened about halfway through his second season, too.

I so hope that the Mask reference doesn't carry over to when I see Matt Smith next!

I had zero experience with the original run of things, but recently tried a bit of one with Sarah Jane as the companion. It lasted all of about 20 minutes before I got sick of the "Poor me, I'm a fainting, weak female" until I flipped it to something else. I may try again some other day, some other episode or special.

I want to say I'd seen a coupla eps from looking at the old doctors, but can't say for certain.

From what I've seen of the new season (nine episodes so far), it seems like some are totally hit and miss with me. Amy's choice I liked, Victory of the Daleks... not so much.

I totally cried at the end of Season Four, too, and then EXTENSIVELY at the end of The End of Timey Wimey whatever that showed the official leaving of Tennant and the arrival of Smith. I almost never cry at shows, and will get a lump in the throat at best if I'm super close to bleedy times. I felt it was totally drawn out and cheesy, but that didn't stop the tears from rolling, oh no.

I can TOTALLY see the teenager/adult/grandpa thing!!

I've only seen two eps into season five so far - I desperately wanted to come home from school tonight and get in an episode before bed, but since I work at six a.m. and couldn't keep my eyes open today after three giant mugs of coffee, a diet coke, an iced mocha, and an energy drink, methinks I need some rest before the alarm goes off at 330 am - in 6.5 hours. Sucky to have class until 830 pm.

Sigh.

Shows what I know - I hadn't even noticed the Bad Wolf thing in season one - I basically had it going in the background while dinking online *coughWoWahem* and only started REAAAALLLY watching it about halfway through Tennant's 2nd season when his voice stopped grating on my nerves (in comparison to Eccleston's) and something *clicked* and IWASINLOOOVE.

Season Four's theme is so my favorite now and I can't believe I didn't think of getting it as a ringtone until you mentioned it. MUST HAVE. WANT.

And LOLZ at Rose being up in everyone's season ;) I had expected to HAAATE Donna, as my brother watched the first four seasons about six months ago and abhorred the hell out of her. I like her, though :)

I loved Rose very much, though I'm wondering if I'm going to eventually love Amy more. Only seeing her in two eps so far, it's still too early to decide.

I liked Martha a lot at first, but in retrospect, she was kinda meh. Also because of her and Rose, I expected every single companion ever created to be hopelessly in love with the Doc.

I expected to hate Donna, as my brother had seen the first four seasons about six months ago and HAAAAATED her - and warned me greatly about how annoying she was. I guess that going in and expecting the worst.... I ended up liking her quite a bit. The bit where they finally run into each other again after just missing each other a ton of times, him outside the window and her outside the door? I about peed myself, I did.

I'm looking forward to seeing where Amy Pond will head in future episodes, so far I like her lots. I thought that Matt Smith might be super short in comparison to other docs, but then saw that she's 5'11". Dang, that's a lotta leg.

Regarding the doctors, I had expected to have a fierce number one fave.... well, okay, fine. Tennant. BUT!!! That being said, I still love the other two doctors for what they brought to the plate. (Yes, yes, I realize that there's ten other doctors, but I've only watched a teensy bit of anything older than Eccleston, back in the Sarah Jane Companion days and had to turn it off after about twenty minutes of her swooning and fainting and getting captured. Repeatedly. Maybe one day I'll try again.)

Ahh. Thank goodness for Torchwood! I watched the first episode of that yesterday, and it seemed quite fun.

I did like Rose a lot. I thought she was beyond beautiful in the first season. My brother had pointed out repeatedly that when she shows up in later seasons, she starts to look... not like Rose. I hadn't realized how different she looked until I watched the final Tennant episodes and then immediately went back and watched the episode where Eccleston meets Rose for the first time. Which makes me feel totally judgemental and catty.

I had tried to find downloads of Season Five, thinking that Bit Torrent would at least have it, but noooOOOOooo. After searching many places, I finally found one on tudou.com - I can put up with the crappish quality and foreign subtitles for now, so I can get MAH STORIES.

Blink was quite wonderful and beyond creepy.

Since I didn't pay much attention the first 3.5 seasons, having had them just sorta playing in the background while playing WoW or other things online, I want to go back and really watch them again, though I'm thinking that might be a tad obsessive at this point! ^.^

It took until about halfway through his second season, though, for it to *click* and for the massive love to begin - at first, his voice grated on my nerves, since it was so different from the Eccleston I had been used to.

I have one "special" with Tennant left to watch, The Waters of Mars or somesuch - I'm hanging onto it for a bit.

Looking at pictures of Smith and knowing that he took the place of MY BELOVED TENNANT, I was extremely skeptical going into Season Five, but... I think I like him. Only two eps in, still hard to tell.

Until Amelia Pond, Rose had been my favorite, though I guess I loved each for their own reasons - though after Donna grew on me and after the massive emotional ties between the Doctor and Rose, Martha seemed a bit... meh... to me. I'm hoping that Amy Pond will end up being as wonderful as I think she's going to be.
